ProsFantastic Movie A fresh piece of comedy Got to see a new side of Charlize Theron Mainly focused on Moms
ConsNot everyone will be able to understand its depth
Tully is a story about an exhausted mother, Marlo, who is trying her best to keep her life together. She has 2 kids and 1 is on the way. Her son, Jonah is suffering from an un-diagnosed skin condition, which makes it extra sensitive and Marlo is trying a documented method to reduce it’s sensitivity.
In all this mess of trying to keep the family together, she gives birth to the third child. Her husband suggests to get a night nanny so that both of them can get a good night’s sleep.
At first, Marlo refuses to let any stranger come into their house and handle her newborn baby while they are asleep. However, when things become unbearably exhausting and frustrating, she gives in.
This is where the night nanny, Tully, comes in. It’s hard to trust a stranger at first but after spending few nights and seeing that Tully is a good person & takes care of the baby like Marlo would, she becomes good friends with Tully.
Tully doesn’t take only the newborn’s responsibility, she also makes Marlo see the brighter side of her life. Marlo had been believing since long that after turning 30 her life has become monotonous and it’s going to be like that till the end of her days.
But Tully shows her that she can handle family and enjoy her life as well.
The movie is surprising authentic and shows us what a mother goes through with children. How her life rotates around feeding, cleaning and dressing up kids!
There’s a surprising twist at the end the end of the movie which I won’t disclose here. This movie is definitely worth your time and money.
