Redmi Note 5 – Introduction

No matter, how many smartphones will and come and go, but budget smartphones are always be the first choice of smartphone lovers. In India, the place of best budget smartphones has been acquired by Xiaomi and thus this company always seems to add new and best smartphones in their list, and now they have bring the king of budget smartphones, which is Redmi Note 5.

In February, 2018 Xiaomi launched two smartphones Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, till now the craze of these two budget smartphones is on its verge. In the beginning both of these were exclusively available on Flipkart and official Mi store in flash sales but now Redmi Note 5, is currently in stock.
Why, Redmi Note 5 is the king of budget smartphones? Why it is still occupies the first position in this range? Let’s check this out.

Redmi Note 5 – Display and Design

This latest phone Redmi Note series is equipped with Full HD+ 5.9 inches IPS LCD display. But this display has much more upgradation than the other phones of Xiaomi, the brightness section and overall performance is improved now.

It has 18:9 screen to body ratio, which means this display covers large part of front panel of phone. This screen has all the latest feature like auto brightness adjust, improved and better reading mode and curved edges. It has got the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which is good in the smartphone of this range.

Note 5 has the perfect dimensions of 6.2 x 2.9 x 0.3 inches (length x width x thickness), which weighs around 180 grams. The back panel of this phone is made up of aluminium with plastic at top and bottom. The rear camera is placed at the top-center with the fingerprint sensor right below it.

The physical specifications of this phone is almost perfect and weighs pretty much light. It also has IR (Infrared blaster) at the top edge, power lock/unlock button at the right with volume rockers and micro USB port, mic, speakers and 3.5mm jack at the bottom edge.

Redmi Note 5 – Processor and RAM

In terms of processing unit, this phone has same Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, which was the part of its predecessor Redmi Note 4 and it is almost around two year old. The performance of this chipset is good but gives average performance, with heavy usages.

This processor has eight cores of ARM Cortex A53, which are clocked at maximum frequency of 1.8 GHz. In parallel to this Octa-core processor, Adreno 506 GPU has been installed for better gaming experience. For the best audio experience it has Qualcomm Aqstic audio processor and Xiaomi has also claimed that it has Quick Charge 3.0, but it shows quick charging of only 2.0.

Redmi Note 5 is currently available in two RAM and Internal storage options of 3GB/4GB and 32GB/64GB, although there is a slight difference in the price of these two variants but in terms of speed and storage 4GB RAM and 64 GB Internal is much better. So, I’ll recommend you to go for 4GB variant, for smooth and flawless performance.

Redmi Note 5 – Camera

This phone has single rear camera of 12 MP, with LED flash. The performance of this camera is really good the color saturation level and depth is much more better. You can also be able record 4K videos, with this phone and the most interesting part of this feature is that, 4K recording option is not available in the Pro version of Redmi Note 5.

The front camera of this phone is only of 5 MP, which is quite surprising in the phones of Xiaomi, because this is the company, which is also known for its cameras too, but don’t why, this time it is lagging. Despite of being this small front facing camera of 5 MP, the resolution of its pictures are amazing and pretty much effective. Overall, this is a good camera in this price.

Redmi Note 5 – Colors

Note 5, currently available in four different colors, which are Gold, Rose Gold, Lake Blue and Black. As Black color is the all time favorite of everyone, but if you are looking for any new color, then you can opt, either Rose Gold or Lake Blue, both of these colors are new in this range and giving a nice look to Redmi Note 5.
