With the increasing trend of notch and bezel less smartphone in the world each and every smartphone company are trying their best to make their best bezel less smartphone. Thus, LG has also joined this queue, with their new smartphone, LG G7 ThinQ.
LG G7 ThinQ, was officially announced by LG on 2, May 2018 and its first sale was started in UK on 31 May, 2018. This LG smartphone has got the mixed reviews from the critics, it has got positive reviews in terms of it AI powered camera, speakers and its bright display but in parallel it has got negative reviews in terms of upgradation from LG G6 to LG G7 ThinQ and it small battery.
So, lets check it out, whether these reviews justify the specifications or not.
LG G7 ThinQ – Box Content
This smartphone comes in a paper box, on opening it you will get some paper stuffs and below it your LG G7 ThinQ device, a fast charger, handsfree, Type-A to Type-C cable, power brick, two additional ear tips and two additional adapters of microUSB to Type-C and Type-C to Type-A.
So, this time LG has given everything in this box, like additional adapters, which is almost first time you will ever see. This is good move from them because, we mostly find microUSB connectors so, getting a convertible adapter is plus point.
LG G7 ThinQ – Display and Design
LG G7 ThinQ’s design is almost similar to the other smartphone of the LG, which is V30s ThinQ, which is the lower variant of this smartphone. The rear panel of the phones is quite similar, with the little change in the orientation of the camera. In LG G7 ThinQ, the dual rear cameras are vertically placed with flash light on its right side, whereas the camera orientation of the LG V30s ThinQ is horizontal.
Other things like, power lock/unlock button is on the right arm of the phone and volume rockers is on the left arm of the LG G7 ThinQ. So, overall this is the mixed outcome of some new innovation and the previous model of LG smartphone LG V30s ThinQ.
The display of this smartphone is pretty different from the other smartphone of LG, because LG has tried to install bezel-less display in LG G7 ThinQ. This smartphone comes with 6.1 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with 82.6% screen-to-body ratio. The brightness adaptability of this smartphone is its main highlighting feature.
This large display has the resolution of 1440X3120 pixels with the pixels density of ~564 ppi. It also has notch for the placement of front camera and various sensors and a small chin. This 6.1-inch display has got the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which will protect your smartphone from scratches and any other major damage to this screen.
LG G7 ThinQ – Processor and Memory
The processing unit of this smartphone is best, this smartphone has Octa-core (4×1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver & 4×2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold) Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, which is currently one of the latest and fastest processors in the world. The installation of this processor in this smartphone will definitely improve the performance and speed of this phone.
To improve the gaming performance of this smartphone newly build GPU Adreno 630 has been given with it. As we have look on the performance of the previous GPU, which was Adreno 540, which was fantastically awesome so, we can ensure ourselves with the gaming performance of LG G7 Thinq, that it is going to be flawless.
In order to give a smooth and flawless performance to the users, LG has coupled this Snapdragon 845 with the RAMs of 4 GB and 6 GB. This is the thing, which LG needs to improve, because Snapdragon 845 gives better results with 8 GB and currently there is no news regarding the 8 GB variant of this LG G7 ThinQ.
With the different RAM variant this smartphone also has two different internal storage options of 128 GB with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB with 4 GB of RAM, this internal storage can is expandable upto 512 GB through dedicated slot in single sim model and SIM 2 slot in dual-SIM model.
LG G7 ThinQ – Camera and Battery
LG has worked enough to improve the photography level through their dual rear camera. LG G7 ThinQ has dual rear camera of 16 MP of aperture f/1.6 + 16 MP of aperture f/1.9 with laser auto-focus, PDAF and LED flash. The quality of this dual rear camera is notably awesome the color saturation and depth in photos of this phone is perfect.
This camera is capable enough to record the videos of 2160p at 30 and 60 frames per second, 1080p at 30 and 60 frames per second and 720 p at 240 frames per second. On the other hand, this smartphone has average front camera of 8 MP of aperture f/1.9, which is not a good move by LG.
The battery of LG G7 ThinQ has got relatively negative reviews because this phone only has a 3000 mAh battery, which is not enough for a full screen display. But this low battery overlaps by its fast charging, because this smartphone supports Quick Charge 3.0 and also wireless charging in the US version only.
LG G7 ThinQ – Colors
