DJI Inspire 2 is a quadcopter which has talent to accomplish all acts associated with the photography and piloting. Inspire 2 drone is a compilation of many technologies which are dedicated to give it a best of the best performance. Rather than having a fixed gimbal camera, it is compatible to many gimbal cameras designed for it to deliver what you desire from it. Its performance regarding photography leads it to be used in filmmaking. It is the best replacement of DSLRs.
ProsGood for filmmaking. Best replacement of DSLRs. Portable gimbal camera. Stunning photography. Return to Home safely. ActiveTrack for subject target. Balanced, Precise and accurate flight control.
ConsIt is heavy in weight. Costly.
How is DJI Inspire 2 Drone?
DJI had revealed Inspire 1 which came to be known as first filmmaking drone in the world having HD video transmission system, 360-degree rotation and a 4K camera. Inclusion of separate Zenmuse gimbal created a lot of purposes to the drone.
Inspire 2 is an improvement of Inspire 1. The older CineCore2.0 is upgraded to CineCore2.1 that is an image processing system. Drone has specific speed endurance that takes it from 0 to 50 mph or 80 kph in just 5 seconds which further reaches to its maximum speed of 58 mph (94 kph). Apart from acceleration, it descents back with a speed of 9 m/s in a silent mode.
Two batteries help prolonging flight time to a maximum of 27 minutes. There are many drones from different manufacturers which fail to take flight either in low or high temperatures but Inspire 2 unveils something separate to them. Its self-heating technology keeps it to continue in low temperatures. FlightAutonomy is prevalent among DJI’s drones, but this time FlightAutonomy is improved to act with precision especially for Inspire 2, which provides two directions obstacle avoidance and sensor redundancy.
DJI Inspire comes with Zenmuse X4S featuring 20-MP but you can also buy other portable gimbal cameras. Flight time varies from one gimbal to another depending on the type of gimbal camera.
DJI Inspire 2 is potent capable to sense obstacles from about 30 meters away of it, allowing the pilot to have a worrying-free flight at high speed under controllable manner. Infrared sensors detect upward obstacles of range 5 m. These sensors play key role in giving a secure flight and piloting to the user.
There is a powerful tracking mode, Spotlight Pro, which allows pilot to shoot different types of photos. Its amazing ability of locking subject target while flying at any speed with accuracy help dedicated camera to conduct precise photography.
Inspire 2 has two shooting modes namely Quick Mode and Composition Mode. To avail Quick Mode you need to select an object to begin tracking while for Composition Mode, select the target and tracking position. Once the subject reaches the present tracking position, you need to press the shortcut to begin tracking. For composition adjustment, gimbal can be moved.
Besides Spotlight Pro, Inspire 2 has other intelligent features appropriate for flight and shooting purposes. Point of Interest and Waypoint help avoiding obstacles in optimized manner, which further help finding complex shots simple and repeatable. QuickSpin, TapFly and ActiveTrack are among them simplifying challenging shots.
Onboard FPV camera with 2 axes distinguishes the flight view from the main camera view, leading it to be a dedicated TapFly camera. Flight route through screen tapping is easy to set and drone will automatically follow the route, leading a pilot to focus only on its camera rather than drone’s movement. DJI Inspire 2 has incredibility to distinguish various features of the same looking through ActiveTrack.
To create complex or dramatic shots, advanced and intelligent technologies help pilots to carry out photography in an easier way. You can see what your drone sees in the sky. Yes, its video transmission system which uses dual frequency and dual channel to get you videos from an onboard FPV camera and the primary camera simultaneously. DJI drone workflow is optimized to record videoin CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes, and other formats prevalent in filmmaking.
In a bid to create real-time map of its flight route, forward and downward systems play key role. When transmission signal does not find its way that is disconnection between drone and controller, Return Home is enabled which helps drone to come back following the original route. While returning, it uses primary camera to detect obstacles for safe landing on the ground. However, it regains signals for the further flight.
Drone weighs about 3440 g (including propellers and two batteries but excluding gimbal camera). When it is ready to take off, it weighs 4250 g in all.
Its remote controller is entirely based on Lightbridge technology which makes it accurate and fast. Signal frequency switches between 2.4 GHz and 50.8 GHz. Drone and controller can communicate up to a range of 7 Km, quite enough for piloting distant flight. It has several ports such as extension port, HDMI port, USB port and so on. Controller equips 6000 mAh battery which runs longer than aircraft.

Things to be Taken Care Regarding its Usage:
- Don’t depend entirely on its FlightAutonomy.
- Always keep it fully charged before going to operate.
- Don’t make it to function several tasks simultaneously as it might get disturbed.
- Always prefer it for different photography purposes.
- Don’t underestimate it.
- Prefer it over DSLRs.
